Handy Information to improve your stay

We've learned a lot during our time enjoying The Limes, here's a bit of what we've found that should help you during your visit.

To get you started

When you arrive we will leave you a few bits to get you going:
Tea, Coffee, Milk and Sugar.
Washing up liquid, sponge and cloth
Toilet roll and bin bags

Bed linen and towels included

Pre order tackle or bait

There is a fantastic tackle shop on the staithe (2 minute walk, seasonal opening), however, if you are fussy, want specialist baits or need specific tackle please let us know. We can put you in touch with the right people and even have your order delivered with a hire boat to the staithe!

Add a boat

Our local tackle shop can hire you a  fishing boat complete with 5hp 4 stroke Mercury outboard, Minn Kota electric trolling motor, Humminbird depth finder, mud weights, rod rests, full tank of fuel (more than enough for a full day), auto inflating life jackets.
Hire for a day or week at discounted rates. Please ask when booking

Routes by boat

Please click below for simple routes by boat to local places, all in PDF to allow you to download and use or print

Parking

There is parking for 2 cars at The Limes but please be careful where you park!
We enjoy a shared driveway with our neighbours which requires consideration when using. Please park your car in front of our shed, top red square, after this space is taken please park near the front door steps as close as you can. DO NOT BLOCK THE ENTRANCE NEXT DOOR IN YELLOW.
Our neighbour has a entrance gate to his mooring immediately next to The Limes, we must not block this at any time. We have parked 2 4x4s (pick up truck) without causing a problem so don't worry, there is plenty of space!
 Fishing

01

Species

Mostly Bream, Perch, Roach, Rudd, Pike and even the odd Carp

This 4lb+ bream was caught whilst seeding the lawn!

02

Times

Anytime!
Cast behind passing boats in the day to get the fish while they head for the stirred up water. Feed up the swim mornings and nights when it's quieter.

03

Technique & Bait

Swim feeder works well for getting the fish started, float or leger over will keep the bites going. Hair rigs help with wary fish. Chod rigs help for those larger targets.

Ground bait helps attract the fish, hook bait of sweetcorn, maggots or pellet always get bites.

04

At The Limes

We have a tackle storage shed in the garden so you can keep your kit set up when you are not fishing.

Fish from the quay head or feed up the mooring dock and create your own swim! The passing boats move water in and out of the dock drawing the fish in for you.

Fishing is subject to rod licence and closed season
